Davis, John, et al., eds. Earth First! Journal 11, no. 2 (21 December 1990). Republished by the Environment & Society Portal, Multimedia Library. http://www.environmentandsociety.org/node/6949.
After this issue of Earth First!, the journal will be split into three publications: Earth First! Journal, New Earth First! Journal, and the Wild Earth Journal. John Davis, the current editor, explains the content and future plans for these journals. In addition, Mary Davis discusses the Sierra Club’s involvement with the Love Canal (“the nation’s most notorious hazardous waste site”), and Christopher Manes explains why he is a misanthrope.
"Misanthropy is a recognition that there are limits to human existence—that humans bumble and cheat, are self-deluded mammals, power hungry and erring by inclination, and therefore should not presume to disturb the fearful beauty of this planet. There are more remarkable things in heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in humanist philosophy."
—Christopher Manes
